This is a picture of the Lorauino board:
Its a Arduino Uno compatible board fitted with a LoRaWan radio section. You can also see the coin battery for the on board RTC, a LiPO battery connector (1), a secondary micro USB connector (2) for charging a connected battery. We have also changed the usual mini USB connector, for communication with the Arduino section, with a micro USB which is more commonly available.
On the board we have the usual 3 Arduino Leds: power, serial tx and rx. We also have another set of 3 Leds for the LoRa section: Link - which turns on when the board is connected to a LoRaWan network, and LoRa RX and TX.
As you can see the antenna is etched on the PCB, we have designed this antenna so that it can be easily removed and a SMA edge connector can be soldered on the pcb to use a normal antenna. Before breaking off the PCB antenna, be very careful in cutting the PCB trace so that when breaking off the antenna PCB no damage is done on the antenna trace.

The radio section of the Lorauino is LoRaWAN compatible thus you need a LoRaWAN compatible network, wether public or private, to make it work. You cannot make a point to point LoRa connection with two Lorauinos.
We are already testing the beta version of the Lorauino Station and are ramping up the Lorauino Cloud software so that you can setup a complete LoRaWan network. We are planning to release them end of June 2016, we will open a closed beta around mid May, write to us ( firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are interested in receiving the first samples of the Lorauino Station and access to the cloud platform.
